I started my career in the 1990s in Austin, Texas as a journalist covering the technology sector. From there I moved into interactive media, working as a programmer and project manager for a startup in the heart of the early digital scene in Austin.
That experience led me to managing ambitious digital projects. At a pioneering Austin interactive agency, I oversaw international teams producing high-stakes interactive content for companies like Canon and IBM.
Long before Zoom, Slack, or even remote file sharing, our teams collaborated remotely with clients across continents, time zones, and cultural differences. The complexity and precision demanded by clients like Canon Japan Semiconductor set a standard of excellence I’ve aimed to maintain ever since.
Over the next two decades, I’ve managed digital production operations, led large-scale organizational changes, and helped companies become more effective, responsive, and people-focused.
For example, at the educational publisher Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, I oversaw the massive shift from print to digital-focused production, eventually relocating to Dublin to build a new digital operations hub.
Since moving to the Netherlands in 2011, I’ve run my own consultancy, working internationally with startups, NGOs, multinational companies, and a Hong Kong-based family office. Projects have included interim COO roles, operational overhauls, startup mentoring, and evaluating applications for multi-billion euro EU entrepreneurship funding.
These days, I’m less interested in the spotlight and more focused on building the conditions that help others shine, by shaping strategy, structure, and team dynamics behind the scenes.
After many years in the Randstad region (and a few in Groningen), I recently relocated to Limburg. Drawn by the area’s unique blend of tradition and innovation, I find inspiration in its landscapes, architecture, and vibrant cross-cultural environment.
If you need help with operational challenges, complex projects, or organizational change, I’d love to connect.
